.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 150 AM CDT Thu Mar 26 2026
Unseasonably high temperatures with mostly sunny afternoons will
continue through Friday, along with a less than 5% chance of rain
due to a dome of high pressure across the region. A cold front is
forecast to move through S TX Friday night through Saturday
bringing near normal, more seasonal temperatures for the weekend.
S-SE winds will briefly shift to the east and northeast on
Saturday.
There is a low (15-25%) chance of light showers ahead of the cold
front along the Rio Grande and across the southern Coastal Bend
Friday night into Saturday morning. However, rainfall amounts are
expected to be less than 0.05in.
Otherwise, dry conditions continue. East to southeast winds
return Saturday night, ushering above normal temperatures back
across S TX for the upcoming week.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 623 AM CDT Thu Mar 26 2026
MVFR ceilings are not as widespread as expected earlier this
morning, mainly focused north over the Hill Country and hugging
the Rio Grande. We`ll maintain a TEMPO through 16Z for lingering
blankets of MVFR ceilings passing through. VFR conditions will
follow and continue through this evening, with the forecast ending
with another MVFR ceiling night. Southeasterly winds will become
breezy this afternoon, with sustained 15-20 knots and gusts of
25-30 knots. No rain chances.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 150 AM CDT Thu Mar 26 2026
A gentle to moderate flow (BF 3-4) is expected into early next
week with an occasional fresh breeze (BF 5) for bays and nearshore
waters south of Port Aransas. A cold front Friday night will
shift winds to the east and northeast on Saturday. East to
southeast winds return by Saturday night. There is a 20-40 percent
chance of showers associated with the cold front south of Port
Aransas and extending offshore Friday night into Saturday.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 150 AM CDT Thu Mar 26 2026
Humidity values consistently fall between 20-30% over the Brush
Country and western Coastal Plains each afternoon this week. This,
in combination with breezy east-southeasterly winds each
afternoon and dry to critically dry fuels, will result in elevated
to near- critical fire weather conditions. A cold front is
expected Friday night into Saturday morning which will bring a
wind shift from the east to northeast before the front lifts back
northward on Sunday. There is a low (15-25%) chance of wetting
rains associated with the cold front along the Rio Grande and
across the southern Coastal Bend Friday night through Saturday
morning. Rainfall amounts are expected to be <0.05in.
